I was going through some letters today and found this from a parent- she wrote this when I resigned from my last job: "In a world where it is easy to just turn the other way, Ms. Dee volunteered countless hours teaching kids how to get along providing them with strategies to stand-up against bullying, not only as a victim but as a bystander as well. When most other teachers sat in the faculty room eating and socializing with each other, Ms. Dee provided a refuge for the elementary kids to come to her room to resolve their issues. On her own time, she passed this passion on to the older middle school students as well. My own children love the peace sign, not because it is the trend, but rather for all that it stands for that Ms. Dee has taught them. Although working as a Speech therapist at our school required a demanding schedule that she focused upon, she spent every other spare moment on making our school a safe environment to learn."
