I was going to not post my thoughts on the accident that happened - TopicsExpress

I was going to not post my thoughts on the accident that happened Saturday night, but since so many have asked me about it, I will. I never had the chance to meet Kevin, but I was able to watch him race from the infield at Yates County Speedway many times. I was also not at Canandaigua Motorsports Park on Saturday night. From what I have gathered from reading posts and from others is that Kevin Ward was an outstanding young man with a great racing and professional life ahead of him. His was loved by many and respected by even more. My heart goes out to Kevins family, friends and everyone who knew him. In the hours following the incident, I grew disgusted at the general public and there lack of respect for Kevin, his family and the racing world as a whole. Just because you have the ability to post your opinion (most of them being uneducated) doesnt mean you should. Have some respect for those involved and keep your opinions to yourself if you dont know the situation or the details surrounding it. The only reason I viewed the video the accident is because it was shared with me, but seeing it posted over and over and over on Facebook, local news and national news, including ESPN, makes me sick. Again, people have no respect for the family of Kevin Ward. Disturbing is the only word I can use. I will end my statement with this: the question that needs to be asked is not, Did he do it on purpose. or Why did he get out his car? The question we need to ask is, What can be done so this type of thing never happens again? Rest in Peace, Kevin Ward Jr.
