I was going to post this NYTimes article earlier today soon after I read it, but I wanted to preface it just a bit and Im only getting around to it now. First, although the summary below says that Anna wishes she had remained silent, shes actually planning as of the date of when this article was published (yesterday) to help other survivors on campus who may have to make similar decisions about whether to report their circumstances and to whom. Also, regardless of whether one is the survivor or the accused, a speedy and fair system of justice is critical to employ -- especially in situations of such trauma and sensitivity -- for all concerned. Shining the light and bringing awareness to the issue is the first step... Even if justice might not have been served in this case - as is implied by the article - I feel this article did the topic itself justice and is well worth the read.
