I was going to say that with Beef Prices going up, at least up here, veal is about half the price of hamburger currently. 2 Kilos of ground beef is hitting $15 to $20 a package, think just over 2 pds for $18-$19 dollars. But this wiki post may convince me to re-think that the use of veal. Free-raised veal[citation needed] is from calves raised in the pasture with unlimited access to their mothers milk and pasture grasses. They are not administered hormones or antibiotics. These conditions replicate those of pasture-raised veal. The meat is a rich pink color. Free-raised veal is typically lower in fat than other veal.[citation needed] Calves are slaughtered at about 24 weeks of age.
