I was having a conversation with an avid Muslim from a foreign country. After learning that I am American, he assumed that I must be Christian. The various religions this country shares, and the world outside of our borders sees us all as Christians... how disappointing. ): So, I explained to him that I choose to avoid all religions, even atheism. Naturally, he offers me to join his religion. Politely, I thanked him for the offer and gently refused with no intention of offending him. As I expected, his response was: Do you not fear the consequences? The last thing I said to this man was: If I dont believe in it, then I have nothing to fear. I will not live my life afraid to make mistakes. I choose freedom of mind and will. I regret nothing. Impressively, this man did not challenge my beliefs. Instead, he commended me for my lack of fear and the discussion came to an end. (: I never judge anyone for their religious view, and I never argue with them. Why have a confrontation? Does it truly matter if our beliefs are different? - Aberrant
