Already a high point of my life on Saturday morning at 9:00 am when Joe came on, we were right in the middle near the front. Hal said Hey. You want a beer? Alison, you want a Coke? What? Sure. How? Here we are, in the middle of 300,000 people and Hal has scammed beer and Coke, just as Joe starts to sing. I am astounded and delirious, swingin to Joe. Hal was bartering for cigarettes. We lived well on this ubiquitous currency. Dry socks: 3 cigarettes. (The power of addiction!!!) Hour by hour, this was one of the best weekends of my life. Still, a sanctuary, just like Joes music.
