I was honored and privileged to take part in the USNS John Glenn (MLP 2) Christening Ceremony in San Diego this morning. Today’s event was a culmination of vision and hard work that also honors a national hero. Senator John Glenn was a bold, fearless leader whose innovative spirit and intrepid nature is rightly reflected in this innovative platform. The Mobile Landing Platform is flexible and responsive and no doubt will prove invaluable to our Navy Marine Corps team. The NASSCO employees, Sailors & Civilians and all who took part in the creation of the Glenn should be proud.
