I was honored to be invited to speak at this great historic rally. I estimate that over a thousand people came throughout the afternoon to give their support for Dine presidential candidate Dr. Joe Shirley Jr.s vision of a stronger government and nation. I met elders, families, youth, grassroots and community leaders, and veterans from across Dinetah. Regardless of what many of you may think of Dr. Joe Shirley Jr, my mind is made up, that he is the only one at this moment in our troubled times to bring us together as one family. I have worked with him on many issues regarding our Dine and Dine government structure. I am not confused, nor am I being used as many of you might think, in fact I am more clear in my mind and heart that he will take our people into a stronger future. I sat down with him privately and discussed many issues. He has always given me the time to sit down with him. He has always followed through with his commitments to me and many grassroots anti-uranium mining communities and organizations. Dr. Shirley has always been straight with me and he always has honored my lifetime commitment and dedication to my Dine and holy Dinetah. Over the years he has encouraged me to be strong and continue my advocacy for the nation. Mr. Brown, my son, I honor your lifes work and your passion for your people. I admire what you have accomplished over your lifetime and how you have organized many communities for the various causes. You are a strength to me and our Dine people I have never ever heard such words before. I know he was sincere each time he has shared his words to me. I look forward to helping him in many ways. I believe that he is strong enough to stand for our people. I have never ever endorsed a political candidate in my lifetime. I see that times are changing and we are facing great upheaval and dangerous times in our world and I know he will stand strong for our Dinetah. Regradless of what many of you may think or say, I will support him. Its very easy to criticize and make crude and disparaging remarks about him, doesnt matter what you all may say, I will help and support his vision of a stronger government and Dinetah. Facing the federal and state officials is no easy task, in fact it can be downright dangerous and threatening. With his strong faith in prayer and song, I know he will have the energy and steadfastness to stand strong for us.
