I was honored to do the opening address this morning for the third annual Oregon Coast Economic Summit that is being held in Florence at the Three Rivers Casino.The summit is sponsored by members of the Oregon Legislatures Coastal Caucus in cooperation with several primary partners, including the Confederated Tribes of the Coos, the Lower Umpqua and Siuslaw Indians, Three Rivers Casino & Hotel and Oregon State University (OSU). The summit will feature informative panel discussions on a wide range of topics that recognize the Oregon coasts unique economic diversity. Panel participants will include federal, state and local government officials, members of the private sector, tribal leaders and policy makers at all levels. This afternoon at 5 pm attendees will hear from Oregon Senator Jeff Merkley before breaking for a reception that will feature vendors from the coastal region. The Taste of the Oregon Coast will be at 6 pm. The Summit will continue through tomorrow and you can find a full agenda by downloading the OCES 2014 App from the Itunes and Google Play stores.
