I was honored to receive a special ring for Christmas, from a young lady that has a special place in my heart. This young lady is a part of my husbands family, which means she is my family, too. Along with the ring she gave me, was a beautifully written note, explaining why I was given the ring. The note brought tears to my eyes. It is very private and personal, but it speaks of what is important in life, and about the bond of love that we share. The ring has a date stamped on it, 2017. That date symbolizes the year this beautiful girl will graduate from high school. The ring not only fits her finger, but fits mine as well. I have looked at the date, 2017, while wearing the ring, and wondered what other meaning the numbers could have on a day to day basis. between now and this young ladys graduation in 2017. So.....here is what I have come up with. When I look at the 2017 stamped on the ring, I can think of it as military time on a clock. :) Time is ticking away till graduation, 2017, right! Thus 2017, being the 20th hour and 17th minute on the clock, translates to regular time, being 8:17. I plan to say a little prayer at 8:17 A.M. and 8:17 P.M., and think of Makayla, each day, from now until her graduation in 2017. So if Makayla is having a great day, then terrific. If she is taking a test at school, or whatever comes her way on any given day, she will know that Aunt Judy, is thinking of her at 8:17, morning and evening, each day. This may sound weird to some, but it has meaning to me, and I received the ring, and I am so excited about it, that I had to share!!! Thanks, Makayla Dashner, I love you, and I am proud and thankful for the beautiful young lady you have become, inside, and out.
