I was in 7th semester and like every other student, I get back to - TopicsExpress

I was in 7th semester and like every other student, I get back to university life after completing my Internship. After experiencing the industrial environment and people who were working there I came to a conclusion that getting a job on skills would not be easy. You got one even then you would not likely to be asked to do any work worth of your degree. Our industry (unfortunately due to lack of power) is going down day by day, so as the jobs. These whole things were coming in my mind when I was appearing in mid terms of my 7th semester. After mids we decided to have an excursion trip to Muree along with Sir Khawaja Qasim. I discussed my concerns with him and he told me that his younger brother is doing masters in Germany with no tuition fee. That was shocking for me like getting a KFC deal for two years free of charge :P I asked couple of questions regarding how to apply and what is important to get admission. I got some useful initial stuff to start with. I made arrangements with my friends to apply together. More than ten guys get into it to apply with me. I talked to my Dad and he was not happy with it until he talked to my uncle who is German national. As he convinced my Dad that Job market is at boom here so he should come here rather than wasting time there. And getting job after doing masters here would be much easier. After couple of weeks I sit on internet and made a search on google that was like “Top 10 Universities in Germany”. I know It sounds like searching top10 good songs :D Anyway after few hours I came to a better site that is Daad.de and this site proved to be so useful for me to find exact course and university I wanted. I made a list of programs that suits my educational background and interests. And I noted down the deadlines to apply and then went to the Course sites. It’s all easy if you give it couple of hours. (I was done with my 7th semester at this point and yet what I did was just course search). Now first of all you supposed to have an account for making your application. Before doing that you need following things scanned as you have to upload them in application procedure. So I arranged all these things; ð Motivation Letter: You have to explain why you want to go to Germany, Why you selected this university, why this program and why they select you for this degree (Don’t boast here and 2 pages are enough). ð Recommendation Letter: you’re going to need two of them and write it down yourself. In this letter your teacher is recommending the university to take you as worthy choice. Just show it natural and effective. Many teachers in the campus would love to help you on this. ð Transcript: That shows complete result or up till 7 semesters. ð Hope Certificate: it shows that your degree will be completed before commencement of MS classes. ð Language proficiency: IELTS 6.0/6.5 or TOFEL 550 paper based- 213 computer based ð Passport: With expiry of 2 years ideally but min 6 months ð School leaving certificates: FCS, Matric/ A-level, O-level ð Health Insurance: leave it and upload an empty file here. After making the account you can start with the application. Its simple. You just need to upload scanned Docs and fill up some Info etc. Right after doing that you can send your application. I did it when I was in 8th semester. Now you have to courier them attested copies of all docs you have uploaded. (You need attestation from notary public. So many in Blue area). You are done with application after sending them by mail. I used DHL as it is reliable. There is a institution in Germany known as uni-assist. They evaluate application for universities. Some universities use this facility so in this way you have to upload and send documents using uni-assist website. Now after sending docs just wait for few months. Two months has been passed and this is the time you are going to get response of your application. I got it within two months. Some universities call for oral interview so do it confidently as well. Now if you got admission then go straight away to this website: https://service2.diplo.de/rktermin/extern/choose_categoryList.do?locationCode=isla&realmId=108 and make an appointment. You have to make appointment such way that you at least get one month free between it. One month was enough for me. In this month you are going to do these things; Deutsche Bank account: go to the website and download the form fill it (by computer) and take it to your near DB branch along with your passport and admission confirmation letter. You have to courier the form after getting sign of DB on it. They will email you Account info. Send the money and they will email you the Bank statement. Health Insurance: take any health insurance of one month. Starting date must be like one week before the start of classes or up to you if you want to fly earlier. Costs 4K usually. Transcript: up till this point if you have not completed your 8th semester then please wait for completion of semester and get final transcript as its mandatory for embassy interview. You must take appointment by seeing these factors. Just do simple math guys! Now if you think you have everything that is mentioned in this link then you are good to go for embassy. pakistan.diplo.de/Vertretung/pakistan/en/06__Visa__Passport__Legal/2__visa__longterm/2__Study__visa__Seite.html They will ask you simple questions. If you have deposited the money then DB will send you confirmation of your money. Show them everything in original and be confident. Just feel like you are here to get a ticket to visit some place. The whole procedure takes 6 months. Like if you are applying for winter intake (September) then your application procedure would have been started in Jan. Summer intake is in Feb and you have to start your procedure in Oct. Total money you going to need for 2 years is 11 Lac that you are going to deposit in DB. This is your money and they will give it back to you in instalments every month (for security). 4 lacs for rest of things like shopping(! lac)+embassy fee(8K)+pre semester fee(60K)+ticket(70K)+money you take for few days(1 lac). So as a whole you need 15 lacs to goto German university. You can take loan from NBP as well if you cant afford it. Embassy will send back your passport within 4-8 weeks. If you got the Visa then simply buy a ticket and you are good to fly. Good Luck!
