I was in New York for a family birthday celebration this weekend. It was good seeing the senior member of the Strobert family (Aunt Dot) talking and laughing on her 83rd birthday. At noon today, I had a great time at lunch with my former colleague and friend Duane Larson and his wife, Joen, at Le Train Bleu restaurant at Bloomingdales. The last time I was with them was at dinner in Helsinki, Finland a couple of years ago. In addition, I was able to get my new Hunter College alum card as well as able to finally meet Phillip Masson, proprietor of La Grenouille restaurant in Manhattan. We have mutual friends in Erguy, France but we are never in Brittany at the same time. It was a grand Monday in New York.
