I was in the bank yesterday right at closing time. The lady behind the counter yelled out 3 more minutes! to her co-workers. A guy retorted back and said Let me know when its down to 2. Counting down the minutes is like trying to rush life. Do you really want to live your life trying to fast-forward? Trying to get to the weekend? Please dont short change yourself. Life will pass you by in a flash. Instead of focusing on whats next focus on whats right in front of you. The Dali Lama, when asked what surprised him the most about humanity, answered: Man. Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices his money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then he dies having never really lived.
