I was influenced by Country & Western music, but I loved Rock And Roll too. When I heard The Beatles song I Dont Want To Spoil The Party I knew that was it. That was the sound that influenced me to combine Country, and Rock music together. That song was my inspiration. Gram Parsons 1970 Just another example of how influential The Beatles have been to musicians, and music. Today is the sad anniversary of the death of the man known as the father of Country Rockmusic. Gram Parsons tragically died on this day in 1973 of a drug overdose. Today he is considered one of the most important, and influential musicians that ever lived. Its great to know that even one of least popular Beatles songs had such an effect on him, and his music.
