I was initally put aside when a civil remedy was proposed; however, reading this story and learning that the baby had to enroll in a new school because of this... I understand the need for repercussions. And little Tiana should be included in every step to reassure her there is nothing "FADDISH" about her natural locks... “hairstyles such as dreadlocks, afros, mohawks, and other faddish styles are unacceptable.” (How dare you impose the western definition of beauty and acceptance on our natural existance). I am personally insulted that a school that is designed to direct and reinforce positive character building in children would deliberately attack the self-assuredness of this sweet little girl.
