I was interested to research to find out who the local mob were before white settlement at Kirribilli in Sydney - the Cammeraygal people lived there. They were shifted, unceremoniously not doubt, further in land when white settlement came about. As I sat under the harbour bridge looking out at the opera house - I tried to imagine what it must have been like in their day. The harbour would have been even clearer than it is now - and it is very clear - and it would have been teaming with fish. There would have been trees and birds galore. Long before holding circle there, back by my own water hole in Brisbane, I sang a song to the ancestors of the land I was about to visit and I made a little grass wreath filled with prayers of gratitude, setting it free in the brook. I felt welcomed and supported by the ancestors in the circle when it finally came about. Taking time to prepare yourself and your journey helps you to walk more consciously and confidently on the earth. Not to mention respectfully. What have you done today to prepare your day? What are you doing to prepare for your dreaming to unfold in a more conscious way? It can be as simple as saying a prayer of greeting to the day - or paying attention to the cockatoos or kookaburras greeting the day and joining in (I here them crying out in this moment).
