I was introduced to the mighty Bal-Sagoth in 2002 at the height of my black metal phase by some pals I had at the time, one of whom is now the lead vocalist with Kull. The first song I heard was Voyagers beneath the Mare Imbrium, and I was instantly hooked. I will never forget seeing Bal-Sagoth live at Bradford Rio, such a brilliant gig. Also I once had great fun dropping in on Byron Roberts at his home in Low Bradfield and smoking herbal cigarettes with him in the nearby Plough Inn, much to the landlords dissatisfaction. I still regularly crank up the Sagoth in the car whilst driving to work, nothing better to get through the everyday mundanity!
