I was involved in a little on-line discussion on LPH about that - TopicsExpress

I was involved in a little on-line discussion on LPH about that stellar 80s television show Miami Vice, and how they used somewhat obscure songs (often album tracks) from then-popular artists as background in certain scenes. In recalling a few of those tracks, this one came to mind. It also got me thinking how certain 80s tracks and whole LPs from U2 have gotten lost in the shuffle. One such (to me) is the album The Unforgettable Fire, recorded in Irelands Slane Castle and released in October 1984. Producers Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois (and the castle) gave the album its atmospheric, at times haunting ambience. The track from that album that I remembered from MV was Wire. How strange that this album turns 30 this year. youtube/watch?v=EGWbtcOcOnI
