I was just at a gas station and a little kid walks up to my car - TopicsExpress

I was just at a gas station and a little kid walks up to my car and says excuse me sir, can I wash your window for 50 cents? *Side note - I cant stand when people just ask for money and I dont feel an ounce of guilt when I tell them to get lost. BUT, since he was willing to work for it, I let him. I picked his brain a little bit and asked his name, how old he was (8-years-old), where he lived, and most importantly, what he needed the money for. He said he was saving up so he would have enough money to buy a backpack by the time school started. For you skeptics out there, Im pretty darn good at being able to tell when someones lying to me - he wasnt. Anyway, once my gas was done pumping, I told him he could stop and I handed him 50 cents. He smiled genuinely and said thank you, sir. I then handed him a $20 bill and he reacted the same way I would have reacted if I had won the lottery. It was awesome. There are two morals to this story: 1) Hard work and good manners can go a long way. 2) Be grateful if you didnt have to worry about whether or not youd have a backpack for the first day of second grade. P.S. My windshield has literally never been this clean.
