I was just browsing through issue 117 of ImagineFX. It features beautiful art by Artgerm on the cover and a variety of fascinating articles and inside looks on other artists work. It was when I made my way to the feedback section of the magazine that I noticed someone complaining about another older issue (107) featuring the amazing artist, GENZOMAN. They were complaining about a process vid that was FREE on the site to accompany the article in the book becuase the video cuts out how he finished detailing the characters jewelry in the image he was working on. The complainer goes on to say: please tell your artist that when they make a video that they should include every step so I can learn from what they do. Then whined saying its simply not fair Fair? I couldnt help but feel somewhat disgusted... To say it isnt fair becuase someone isnt sharing all of their trade knowledge with you for free when those artists had to learn and develop that skill/technique themselves through several years of trial and error... How about learning from their own trial and error? Watching artists may give insight but it can never just give you years worth of experience or practice by watching every move the artist makes. The time spent watching could be the time spent practising.
