I was just driving home with my family when a huge tree fell across my road - missed the car in front of me by a few feet but took down massive electrical wires which were then draped over their car and down the road on both sides of us. People got out safely from the passengers side. Then the transformer blew up and I watched as the fires start running and jumping down the electrical lines and into the dried grass on both sides of our cars. Holy shit; its like a movie. The tree and downed lines blocked access to my house a a few hundred feet away so I couldnt get to the dogs. We had to go all the way around to get to our house from the other direction - and drove like insane people to do it but it still took several minutes. Got there before the police could stop me (Leave my dogs in the house with fires burning nearby? Try and stop me). The fires are mostly under control with a small amount still burning on the freeway. Very little damage was done. No damage near my property. Back home now, but no electricity. May be awhile.
