I was just looking at new computers online and wanted to spend less than $1000 and then i instantly recalled 23 years ago this week I was shopping for a computer too... September 1991 , I took the plunge and purchased a cutting edge, Magnavox 386 DX 33 Mhz Desktop , with 4 Mb 72 pin ram (30 pin was standard for years to come, 120 Mb hard drive, 2x cd-rom drive push spring to open, 16 bit Soundblaster card, sxga diamond video card, NEC 17 multi-sync Monitor, a V.32 14.4Kbaud modem w. Fax 3, and the HP Desk - jet 500c color printer. Also the loaded OS was Dos / Lotus Magellan (anyone else remember lotus). I added windows 3.0 All for the tidy sum of $ 7700 plus change. For those of you still awake, thats approximately $ 13,000.00 today. Damn technolust! Oh yeah , and it allowed to play the Tie Fighter game in the link....Totally worth it!
