I was just thinking about the last Southern Cross Band Reunion. - TopicsExpress

I was just thinking about the last Southern Cross Band Reunion. The show took place 4 years ago today with our long time friends, The REAL Kinderhook (Official). The show took place at The Headliner Night Club in Neptune. It all started when Yuri Turchyn and Al Bibiasse contacted me to see if SCB was interested in play a reunion show together. I called Gary Ross, Michael Dykes , and Joe Prewitt to ask if everyone wanted to get together again. All of us agreed to a show with James T Callahan on drums. SCB played its last date in September of 1983. We had 2 reunions, one in 98 and one in 99. They were both fun but were not promoted well and we played to very small crowds. SCB and Kinderhook really wanted to do a show with a great turnout. After several meetings in the beginning of the year August 2 was picked with the Headliner for our show. We had posters made up, Melanie Wagner designed reunion T- shirts and created Facebook pages for our event. The show was a huge success. We had over 650 people in attendance. The show was a true Lovefest. SCB and Kinderhook shared many of the same fans and throughout the day old friends were reuniting. There were lots of tears and laughter. It truly felt like old times. Our set started at 3:15 and ended at 4:30.It was great watching Kinderhooks set and one of my favorite moments was having Tiny, Gary, and I play Jambalaya in Kinderhooks set. I would like to thank everyone that came to our reunion.
