I was listening to some music today, and it grabbed me hard. It saturated my mind and embedded itself in my soul. Just the music, not even the lyrics. The tone and melody and rhythm just spoke to me in such a familiar way that nothing else seemed to matter at that moment. It was just me and the sound, peircing me like the first kiss of a new lover. I felt the music in its entirety, and not for the first time. Music that has stuck with me through all the trials and tribulations through the years, music that I know so well yet at times still feel like I am hearing it for the first time. Music that teaches me things that I never knew about myself. In that moment, just the music and myself, I felt as if I could take on anything yet deeply humbled at the same time. Moments like that always reaffirm my love for the music as I wipe the tears from my eyes. What a song... what song can bring you to this state of mind? - Nighteyes
