I was most annoyed to receive a circular letter late yesterday - TopicsExpress

I was most annoyed to receive a circular letter late yesterday evening from McLoughlin Planning, obviously desperate to counter the valid objections to their appalling plans for Arms Farm. This and their ‘drop-in’ session on Friday 24 October are distraction techniques, and their promises of a purpose built Pre-School cannot be guaranteed as it does not form part of this application - rumours abound that it will be either in the barn or on the school premises - but it will have to be subject to a separate planning application on its own merits. Can the village afford a separate pre-school, with issues around parking, commercial rents and business rates etc, if in the barn? If the school is having difficulty fitting in another classroom where will they put a purpose-built pre-school? What impact will this have on the viability of the village hall? Hopefully everyone will see through their attempts to win people over with undeliverable promises. Their letter does, however, admit that their transport and roads strategy is wrong, but still totally ignores all the other major issues – flooding, sewage, infrastructure (low water pressure, dips in electricity supply, slow broadband, poor mobile phone reception, over-development of the village etc) that they are unable to address.
