I was neither an academically inclined, nor a competitive child. I bunked many of my classes, for a time of quiet, peace and introspection; and so as a Karmic backlash, I flunked many grades, to the much consternation of my elders. As time passed by and I grew up to be a young man, fit to work, but armed with no certificates whatsoever; I was readily rejected by people and companies, as if I was an outcast. I have ran from pillar to post in search of a job and after innumerable futile attempts, I would finally get a petty job; which I would stick to like super glue and give my best to prove myself true. My Resume doesnt have the names of big companies, but it has big years invested in smaller companies, helping it grow, in my own humble way. All through out, I found Mentors, who helped and polished me and my skills ever so beautifully. Whatever I am today, is because of experience and the Mentors who educated me in the truest sense. (Thank you!) Alas! Nothing much has changed even today, when Organizations ask for a minimum Post-Graduation Degree for a Mgmt. position; that too from a premier institute, which I still dont have. Even today its a struggle to convince people of my credibility; but thank god, my skills are honed to certain level of excellence, that I am able to discern and play my words to definite effect, so to convince them, to give me a chance to showcase what I know and can do. And when they do, they want more of it and are willing to pay for it. Thats when, I laughingly reiterate, that I aint even a P.G, to an embarrassed face. I understand and empathize with Smriti Iranis condition. But trust me, real education is not found in books. Its found only when you close it and gather your thoughts to do something about it. She has all the mettle for it and I am sure, very soon She will prove what she is capable of and all her detractors will be eating from her hands. I am not professing allegiance to any political party whatsoever; as much as I wish to support people, who are not Academically Qualified to do their jobs; yet have the capability of excellence nevertheless. Heres to all self-educated folks, who dont have a Certificate to prove their capabilities.
