I was parked in an alley way in the city on Saturday night after I - TopicsExpress

I was parked in an alley way in the city on Saturday night after I finished my set waiting to pick up a friend when a couple decided to break out in a domestic with one another. After about five minutes of their heated row, they both turned to my car and started hurling abuse at me. For absolutely no reason at all. It took me a bit off-guard to be honest, Id been parked there, minding my own business, quietly hoping they didnt notice me at all really. Then bam. F**king dyke and a bunch of other curse lathered threats and cruel names (I gave them a zero for originality). Thanks to some heaven sent timing my friend rang and I reversed out of the spot and drove to the front of her work to pick her up. According to who can only be described as CLEOs Most Ineligible Bachelor Of The Year, I was lucky I was a girl, and rightly so I guess, I was also lucky I was surrounded by two tons of metal, because in the mental and physical state he was in, I was looking like a mighty fine recipient for a knock for no reason. The entire event was rather weird for me to say the least, and up until now, I never really understood how the whole coward punch thing worked. I always assumed the one being punched had it coming or had razzed the culprit so to speak. I couldnt grasp the concept that people get targeted for no reason whatsoever, with zero instigation, but here I was, sober, exhausted, thinking happy thoughts about my fresh sheets on my bed and flirting with idea of a cheeky pit stop at Cafe De Vilis on the way home, and this hero was trash talking at me harder than Mike Tyson. Not only would a hit have injured me, or in the most dramatic outcome, ended my life, it would have ended his as well. Not even the sincerest sorry in the world would have excused him from the lifetime of regret, guilt and jail time for that split second decision. So I guess youve now read all of this and youre expecting a grand conclusion to this post, but I dont have one, in fact the inspiration for this status is really simple: Stop. Think. But most important of all, before you even raise a fist, when youre all hot-headed and youre about to hurl a generic f**king dyke at a young women who probably has her own life battles to fight... Be kind.
