I was raised to be respectful to everyone, but more so to our kids - TopicsExpress

I was raised to be respectful to everyone, but more so to our kids and senior citizens. Working in public safety for more than 20 years, I am reminded of the dangers and pitfalls facing children and the elderly. I was always told by my parents to help someone if you can and treat everyone like you would like to be treated if allowed. One of the programs I would like to add at the Sheriffs Office would be a Formal Check Program. This program would be for our elderly citizens to be placed on a list so we could contact them by phone or in person to insure they are not in need of anything up to medical assistance. This would be a list that any elderly person or family member could request they be placed on and would be confidential and for use only to the Sheriffs Office. The time is now to develop a level of service, second to none, by providing special assistance for one of our most precious resources within our communities.
