I was reading Isaiah chapter 1 this morning and was saddened by what I saw. I saw the state of our nation and the condition of the church identified in this chapter. We are a nation that has given herself over to faithlessness, lovelessness, and abominations. We have embraced false gods and doctrines of devils all in the name of coexisting and religious freedom. We are a nation being seeded with hate and have called evil good and good evil. We have become a church who offers God lip service and religious sacrifice while our hearts and desires are away from him seeking to serve self and to fulfill the lusts of the flesh and the lust of the eyes. We pursue God only when it is convenient for us and when we need him to bail us out of the mess we have gotten ourselves into. We turn a deaf ear to his word and allow our pulpits to be filled with men who lack integrity and holiness, men who have forsaken the doctrine of Christ and preach damnable heresies. We no longer hold people accountable or require men to bring forth works of repentance. Church we need to awaken ourselves. God is coming back for a holy people, a people called by his name, a people who hold fast to his word. Is 1:19-20 if ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat of the good of the land: but if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword. God doesnt want our lips service and our religious sacrifices. He wants a people whos heart is for him. He is looking for a people who love him and desire to have relationship with him. He is looking for a people who hold fast to his word and count the things of God as valuable. Judgement will come to this nation but it will first begin in the house God. Is 1:27 says that Zion will be redeemed with judgement but transgressors and sinners will be destroyed and they that forsake The Lord will be consumed. In Ps 51:10 David prays and asks God to create in him a clean heart and to renew a right spirit within him. Church, we need to invite The Holy Ghost in to search our hearts, to renew us, and to create within us a heart that is pleasing unto him.
