I was recently tagged in a post by Kay Gardner and Gisele Dussault, and I felt it was important to address their comments in a broader discussion, therefore I am sharing it on my own page. Its important to clarify a point that I hold very dearly. Its a principle that has sustained my reporting throughout my career. As Kays post below suggests, I was given every opportunity to give my opinion. My job as a reporter is not to give my opinion. And I will never give my opinion. I am proud, as my colleague Joy Ann Reid pointed out, that American viewers were exposed to fact-based on the ground reporting through NBCs coverage of the Gaza war this past summer for the first time. Our network broke new ground in reporting and there is still a lot more reporting that needs to be done to help viewers in the US and around the world understand the root causes of this conflict and their impact on the region. More precisely, I was asked about an analysis of the recent vote at the UN. What I presented was fact-based analysis and a reflection of the on going debate from many different circles. Here is the full interview. I look forward to peoples comments and reactions to the actual interview. Feedback and criticism is always welcome on.msnbc/1y7ovOX
