I was sitting here this evening upset about a few things and feeling sorry for myself and Bruce said something that really really helped. I want to thank him. When I say he has opened his door to people in need. well I want to let everyone know I WAS ONE OF THEM. and since I have met him he has opened his door and heart to a lot of people at least 9 times to different people. all but a couple have walked all over him and taken advantage of him. Yes he drinks, Yes he has PTSD, Yes sometimes he says things that are not appropriate especially when he is nervous and wants to make a good impression. Yes sometimes he is a grump but who isnt. Now let me tell you what he did for me just recently. He knew I wanted to see family that was in Dallas. even tho he knew the 3 1/2 hour trip would put him in pain and he would have trouble walking for a few days he said make arrangements for a day we can go make plans. I will be ok dont worry about me. I know you wont drive in Dallas you are afraid of the construction and traffic. Let me know when and we will go. He drove 7 hours just so I could visit for 3. he was so stiff and sore for a few days and when I went to thank him and appologise for his leg and back I got I love ms. Betty I would love to see and meet more of your family. You are so lucky you have such a large loving family and I have only gotten to meet 6. How about we try to make plans to drive to ny by way of nc next summer. Its going to take us a few days to get there but you are one of the luckiest people I know because you have family that loves you.
