I was sitting in the White River parking lot yesterday afternoon, - TopicsExpress

I was sitting in the White River parking lot yesterday afternoon, feeding the ravens, and enjoying my PBJ and a frosty beverage. I hear a radio call from Meadows security reporting a cardiac incident at White River. I only saw a bunch of empty cars and nobody in the parking lot. I did a quick drive around of the other two lots and didnt see anything. A few minutes later, the MHM rig arrived and parked. Parkdale Fire Department was on the way and MHM Patrol was staging for taking a sled from the top via Crockatts Notch- the high entry into White River. This was the first time I heard of it, but apparently my past antics got me a landmark- and a worthy one at that! Too bad, it wont go on the map! Anyway, back to live action... The PFD arrived and headed up the ski trail on foot with a couple large bags of equipment. They were moving slowly in the soft snow. Meanwhile, the Ski Patrol reported difficulty from the top and were exploring lower routes which they reported increasing avalanche risks. I decided to skin up to see what I could do. Since I was alone, I could not go up without a partner, so I avoided the Sheriff. I was on the trail when I heard MHM had a snowmobile on the way. When Brandon came up on the snowmobile, I had caught up with the EMTs. I showed them how to get out of the canyon and up into the trees where the patient was, who was attended by nurses. A few minutes later they arrived. The patient was stable and they prepared for transport to the Life Flight Helicopter. The sled from the top had arrived after skiing down most of the vertical of White River. I arrived about ten minutes later and helped clean up. It was a quick and uneventful rescue for me, but huge for those more involved. Great work everyone!
