I was surprised to see several bicycles in the metal recycling dumpster at the Kingwood Recycling Center (union road) the other day. I was throwing out a rusted out fire pit. There were at least 3 bikes, and all looked complete and rideable. If you have bikes you dont want, there are places that will take them, fix them up and give them to needy kids, or low income workers who need bikes for transportation. You can also give a bike away on Hunterdon Freecycle. Instead of melting it down in China to make the next piece of metal to be sold at Walmart, put a used bike into the hands of someone that cant afford to buy one!
