I was teaching at a high school recently and a visiting youth worker was talking about how many teens they deal with, who dont have the means to look after children, get pregnant again and again. A teacher commented: Soon the world is going to be overrun by people who cant look after their own kids. I said: It already is! The worlds human population is already WAY out of control. Do you really think that the people who are pumping out half a dozen kids or more with little or no means of supporting them are intellectual giants who procreate with a great deal of forethought? The youth worker nodded sadly at my comment while the teacher in question was rendered silent. (Its actually possible she was quiet because didnt understand what I said, as she was surprisingly dim. I say surprisingly because I do expect school teachers to possess a certain amount of intelligence).
