I was thinking about it this morning, that Jesus told us to be wise as serpents yet gentle as a dove. I was wondering how does this apply to me. Why does the Lord instruct us to be like a snake. He revealed this to me, Snakes move slowly and cautiously. When a snake moves into new territory, it lays low, keeps silent, and blends in with the environment. It is slow to move. You can walk casually by one and not even know it is there. However once a snake has surveyed the territory and gotten familiar, it knows when to seize the moment and Strike at the right time. We need to know this trait and implement it. When The Lord has given us a mission, move carefully and cautiously with him, check out your oppurtunity, and be wise and KNOw when to strike. Dont act tooo quickly and know who your prey and what our objective is. YOu see snakes know when to seize their prey, but they also know to stay out of way of the enemy camp. So implement the traits of that wise serpent, but be gentle in our aims and goals and Jesus will do the rest.
