I was thinking of how being born again in Jesus, is like growing up all over again. its getting to live life again, but doing better this time around. if you think about it, when we are born again, spiritually, we start out as infants again. our spirits are reborn in the Lord. we are made new again, and are being cradled in the arms of our Heavenly Father. eventually we start speaking His word, like a newborn learning to talk for the first time, to all we meet, as the Lord stands by and beams with joy. eventually we begin to learn to walk in the Lords presence. He holds our hands at first, as we take those first stumbling steps forward. were a little off balance, but He is there to support us as we get our footing. eventually we begin to walk, then run in His presence, and Im sure He is cheering us on the whole way. and we may stumble now and then, we may fall, and scrape our knees, in a spiritual sense. but the Lord is right there to pick us up, and carry us the rest of the way. and as time passes we mature in the Lord. we start being more and more like Him. weve learned what it is to live as Christ did, and we use that wisdom to teach others what it is to know Him, to be loved by Him, and about who He is. weve grown up. but, like life in the physical world, in our spiritual walk, we will always have more to learn. and unlike in worldly life, where our fathers, our parents in general, eventually send us off to make a life on our own (still loving us, but wanting us to be independent) God will always be there, right beside us,in both the worldly, and spiritual aspect of our lives. He will always be there to strengthen us when we grow weak, He will support us when we cant stand up, He will give us courage in the face of adversity, and He will carry us when life becomes too hard for us on our own. to be born again, means to grown in strength in the Lord. and it means, from the point it begins on, we will be forever connected to a wonderful, and mighty God, who will always be there for us (even in old age), always love us, and He will always have our backs. in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior, amen. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come-2 Corinthians 5:17(ESV) What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? 2 By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? 3 Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. 6 We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin. 7 For one who has died has been set free from sin. 8 Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. 9 We know that Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has dominion over him. 10 For the death he died he died to sin, once for all, but the life he lives he lives to God. 11 So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus. 12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, to make you obey its passions. 13 Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness. 14 For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.-Romans 6:1-14(ESV) 1 Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. 2 This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him. 3 For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease. 4 He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection. 5 Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day. 6 Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday. 7 Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you. 8 Just open your eyes, and see how the wicked are punished. 9 If you make the Lord your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter, 10 no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home. 11 For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go. 12 They will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone. 13 You will trample upon lions and cobras; you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet! 14 The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name. 15 When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them. 16 I will reward them with a long life and give them my salvation.”-Psalm 91(NLT) 1 The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need. 2 He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. 3 He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name. 4 Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. 5 You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings. 6 Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.-Psalm 23(NLT) 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.-Romans 8:37-39(ESV) For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.-Jeremiah 29:11(NLT) 29 He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. 30 Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; 31 but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.-Isaiah 40:29-31(ESV) I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.-Galatians 2:20(ESV)
