I was thinking today that it was sometime within the months of Sept/Oct, 14 years ago that Ray & I as soon to be parents of our sweet boy found out wed be entering the equally beautiful & frightening world of special needs parenting. I was barely halfway thru the pregnancy and it almost crushed our souls. We questioned life, God, screamed & cried. Then picked ourselves up & forged ahead. What an amazing ever changing obstacle course to navigate day in & day out. To be honest I would change a thousand things! I always marvel when people say they wouldnt. I would take away every tear of pain my sweet little souls ever shed. Id take away every stare from a mean spirited person. Id take away every contracture, every seizure, every surgery. Not for me. For them. I am so thankful for the person that I have become on my mom journey & how they have touched & changed the friends & family that know them. That is the part Id never change.
