I was traveling down east by north bay,ottawa and Toronto and noticed the houses on Indian reservations are well kept and nice. I had a discussion with a friend and he said it was due to the community members of these reservations paying for the houses thru mortgages with CHMC.This happens on most of the other reservations across Canada where people dont pay their mortgage and so the band has to pay for their mortgages at the end of the year thus no monies left for any new houses causing an ongoing house shortage..He said if you pay for something you would be more inclined to look after it. Also the Chiefs and councils around there dont F##K around if you dont pay you get kicked out of the house and the person next on the list gets the house. So is the solution to have Chief and Councils with some backbone? My take is If you have a good paying job Pay for your house so people on the housing list can get a house.
