I was up late night by myself, just me & my thoughts. I started writin than took a break to listen to some of my bro topfloor Tabloid mixtape. A lil more inspiration...I wanted to talk to my nig real quick so I called him at damn near 4 in the mornin. He in Vegas so I assumed he was still up. I woke him out of a dead sleep but thats what fam is for! Than I called my other bro Chris Stephens, my ace (Idk why I cant tag his name!) For a lil more inspiration. My bro Tab has league potential in rap and my dog Chris has league potential in hoop. I wanna see them make it and fulfill their potential. I believe they will! Im sayin all of this to say that Ive been thinkin a lot more than usual lately... I know and my closest people know I have above average talent myself. Ive been slackin on gifts. With hard work and a lil direction, I coulda played D 1 hoop and atleast overseas myself. I cant let another thing slip away. Speakin of hoop, with music, Im like that cat that comes to the park, dont even stretch and come dunk on niggas! Killin. Potential and all around ability but havent been takin it serious enough. Smh. Thats unacceptable!!! This mornin I listened to some of Mic Capes music (who is nice wit the flow himself, keep doin what u doin!!) and his latest song No More (Amen) hit home. A couple bars stood out for me personally: Dont let em say u cant, use ya heart as a compass/rather u into rhymin, schoolin or shootin jumpers... More inspiration. Again, made me think of myself, my bros and whoever else wit talent. If u have talent, especially when its special, dont waste it! Think about all ya fam, friends, and people from our town that didnt maximize their potential. Or atleast try! I cant let that be me. Mediocre people are on! Ima eat off music one day and if I dont, it wont be because I didnt give it my all! Moral of the story: Timeout for the bullshit. We only gettin older. Follow ya dreams! No cliche
