I was visiting a dear young lady very dear to me who has Sickle Cell Anemia. She has been hospitalized for a month. You would think the hospital is the best place to be, but often times for people with Sickle Cell it isnt. They have to fight while sick and in pain against the stigma of being a drug addict. Its disgusting and Im tired of it. So many people, including medical professionals are uneducated, misinformed and ignorant when it comes to this disease. This is why I will continue to fight for my daughter and the countless others. If we dont fight for awareness, change, and better treatment it will never happen.
