I was watching a home and garden program on PBS early this morning. The dish of choice was Russian kale soup. It really looked delectable. As I was viewing the television, the Lord began to speak to about tasting. Taste and see that the Lord is good. - Psalms 34:8 When you taste something that is really good, your taste buds become activated and you appreciate what you have placed in your palate. If you liked it very much, you will probably enjoy much more of that food item in the future. And so it is with the Lord. When you taste the Lord consistently, you develop an appetite for God that grows over time. However the appetite can be lost because lack of indulging. The Lord was saying that our taste buds have fallen asleep. They need to be awakened once more to be satisfied with His involvement in our lives. We have entertained other appetites that have acquired our attention more than the Lord. Our appetite for the Lord has waned. Thus we have waxed cold and indifferent, given over to every adversity that comes our way. Lord we confess that we have lost our way. We no longer turn the affairs of our lives over to you. We have turned away. We ask that you touch our taste buds and awaken them. Whet our appetites for you and may they increase to the point we are overcome by your goodness, love, and mercy. May we see you at every turn in the path of our walk with you. Lord, touch us in such a way that we drink deep of you as a deer pants after water. May we cry out in desperation. You will hear our cries and answer. Thank you for your Word of correction and admonition this morning. Your Love is great. Thank you for caring for us so much. In Jesus Name, Amen.
