I was with Jeremy yesterday when he passed, and I feel that I need - TopicsExpress

I was with Jeremy yesterday when he passed, and I feel that I need to share his story. Jeremy had been interested in going mountain biking for some time. As most of you know, he was one to get curious about something, and decide he wants to experience it. Earlier this week we made plans and yesterday we carried through with them at the Land Between the Lakes. It was muddy, and we were both having a blast. About halfway through he was tired, which was unusual for him. He is a strong rider. So we stopped at the welcome station, and talked for a little. He walked around, and drank water. He sat, he walked, he lied down, and he got up and walked some more. After about 20 minutes of talking, we decided I would finish out the trail, and he would take the road back. I took the trail back to my car, and began to drive to pick him up - I figured he just hadnt made it to the car yet. An ambulance passed the opposite direction. I thought to myself I hope that wasnt him not even considering that it actually could be. As I arrived at the welcome station and there was no Jeremy. There was a crowd of people and only the bike he was riding. After a few words with the people there, I made my way to the Lordes Hospital in Paducah. An officer at the park led the way. I waited at the Hospital in anticipation. I was scared for my friend. Eventually they called me in and told me that he had had a heart attack, and they couldnt revive him. I talked with the doctors and officers for a while and made my way into his room, and said goodbye. That was the hardest thing I have ever done. After much grief, I think its important to celebrate his life. He would want that. I can honestly say I am proud to have known him, and I am grateful to have been able to help him cross something off his to-do list. He will be missed. He will be very missed. Requiescat in pace, my friend. (Rest in peace in Latin, he would have liked that.) If anyone has an questions, I will do my best to answer them
