I was with a client last night who has been insured with me for over 30 years and he asked me if I still hunted. I was brought back to a time 40 some years ago when me, my Dad, our neighbor Bob Stier, and our golden retriever Honey would plan and anticipate opening day for small game. We hunted at Spanglers farm and usually were very successful mainly because Spanglers farm always had pheasants and Honey was an excellent bird dog. Then afterwards we would go to Shenks Bakery and everyone (including Honey) would have one of Shenks very special cream filled donuts. It was clean, wholesome, father-son stuff - we practice extreme hunting safety, appreciated our prey and marveled in the beauty of a brisk Nov morning, an open field and a casting bird dog. Now-a-days if you give a 13 year old boy a gun - your are almost considered ill-responsible. Where have these days gone?
