I was working on installing a credit button on the control panel of my 1978 Midway Space Invaders arcade machine so I dont have to keep triggering the coin mechanism manually, or inserting quarters. I noticed there was a round plug in the center of both coin slots...so I figured that would be an ideal spot to install the credit button. Then I noticed something I never did before...there is a push button to start game label on the coin door that was covered-up by Bally/Midway with a red stripe. You have to look closely at the photo to see it. I thought this was ironic.
