I was working on my genealogy today and was looking at my Smith - TopicsExpress

I was working on my genealogy today and was looking at my Smith ancestors. I cannot find ANYTHING on my GG Grandfather who immigrated to the US from Germany GRR. He had two sons who were born in McKinney in the early 1860s. The eldest is my paternal Great Grandfather and the youngest of course is my Great Grand Uncle. I was looking at my Great Grand Uncles family, searching for clues for his Father, when I came upon this extremely unusual picture of his Mother in Laws headstone, (Mary Ellen Cole). She was born in 1845 in Dallas and died in 1928 in Dallas, and is buried in Western Heights Cemetery in the Oak Cliff section of Dallas; as is Clyde Barrow, my paternal grandfather, and several more family members. I also found a chapter in a book (Proud Heritage), that tells how the Coles were some of the original families to come to Dallas and they acquired a 640 acre land grant that is now outlined by Mockingbird, Inwood, Lemon and Lovers Lane (of course this no longer belongs to his family). None of these people as far as I know, are related to me, but it was still very interesting.
