I wasnt going to post publicly about something this personal, but I changed my mind. This woman was far too modest to take credit for the many good things she did every day. Along with my parents, she was my first best friend, and was and remains my moral compass, and if I do some good things in this life it is very much due to her teaching and example. She embodied the principle of love your neighbor, but that cant do remote justice to the warmth in her smiles and the kindness in her voice, every time we spoke. Ill never forget sitting with her on the glider when I was young, or all the plays and concerts she came to through high school, or how happy and dignified she looked at my wedding, or how she let my daughter climb all over her walker like it was a playground. She smiled so much, and most of her wrinkles were smile lines. Im also well aware of how lucky and blessed I am to have had her in my life for thirty-five years; not many of us are so fortunate. No need to comment here; I dont want to talk about it a lot on Facebook. But I did want to share her obituary, and try to give a sense -- even if only a limited and incomplete sense -- of how important she was and is. rossellfuneralhomeinc/fh/obituaries/obituary.cfm?o_id=2548646&fh_id=12040
