I watched a debate for Governor of New Jersey. State Senator Buono debated Governor Christie. I was surprised. New Jersey should be proud of both. If either moved to DC they would considerably improve their respective breeds. (This could be true also if we sent a couple of lifers from Folsom prison, but never mind.) Senator Buono represented her Democrat position clearly and effectively. She was very smart and quick and well informed. She did very well. Governor Christie, though not my ideal as a Republican, was masterful. While complimenting Senator Buono for her service and ability, he basically cleaned the floor with her face. And he was very pleasant while doing it. He had the facts and did not need to turn to invective. Anyone should consider their options carefully before debating him. Any state that can present two such candidates for Governor should be congratulated. Perhaps other states, Illinois comes to mind, should find out what brand of Whiskey they drink in NJ and buy a couple of cases. After the debate, Harry Reid came on. So I turned off the TV.
