I went in 2011 and 2012, and had a ton of fun. This year, was awful. I am so embarrassed I convinced my friends to go. The music was so crude, so vulgar, and degrading to women and I found it extremely offensive. THERE WERE KIDS IN THE AUDIENCE FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. Additionally, you couldnt even dance to it! There were no slow songs, nothing empowering. just vulgar rap and slow techno. My friends (and many people I met at the prom) were offended and appalled. I asked the DJ to please play one song, and he was like no requests and continued with his rape-culture music. I have been really looking forward to this, and now all I feel is disappointment. Everything else was great: the food, the people, the decorations...but the DJ killed it for me and my friends.Thank you to the rest of the staff for the food and decorations....and thank you Mr. DJ for ruining my night and the entire prom that everyone else worked hard to create or attend.
