I went on my second, wifes first road trip of 2015. I was in a flea market last year ran into a man (Bob) who said he had cookie jars in a couple antique malls so I figured it was time to hit them. I make the calls to the malls, then plan the road trip one mall said he has around 200 jars in his booth? (more like 100) I never expect much from a fellow collector selling their jars but these were in malls where they say they have 100+ dealers so the hopes rise a bit there. I find the American Bisque Elephant in another booth for only $28. Then walking around I finally came to his booth. He had 80% newer jars most starting around $55. I spot this Lady Duck with Bonnet by William Hirsch 1961 for $35 for figure? He had A.B. flashers selling as high as $500+ low as $250 the newer jars at $50+ then this 50 year old jar cheap while the others were so high? Second mall very nice hardly no jars. The third mall had more jars from Bob. This Mall had around 150 jars most with the same crazy high prices. Vintage or older jars were way out of my budget like the Harley Pig $499 until I found this Starnes Family Circus Dolly after the 25% discount for year end sale I paid $26.95! This trip I saw at least 500 jars! I got three would go back and get around 10 more if my third, fourth, fifth and sixth number would come in the lottery! I saw the Hirsch Duck in one of the books just can not find it? Any one know what book she is in ?
