I went out to Lake Bixhoma yesterday to try out my tripod easel - TopicsExpress

I went out to Lake Bixhoma yesterday to try out my tripod easel and new handmade watercolor sketchbook. The easel worked fine, a few user problems will improve with more familiarity of the adjustments. My handmade sketchbook performed well, and was just the right size for the easel. I did underestimate how much more challenging moving up to the quarter sheet size would be. I think I will make another sketchbook that is half the size, (7.5 x 11inches) for those times when i dont have all day to paint! My finished sketch is not the painting I had in mind, too much detail... Gives me a reason to try again. I used brown and black Copic Multiliners, white uni-ball Signo, HB mechanical pencil, watercolors and palette knife, the image is about 9.5 x 12.75. It was a very cloudy, somewhat windy and chilly day.
